Physician Philosophies

I believe that as my patient you deserve the best medical care that I can provide, whether as your personal physician or as a consultant for a specific endocrinology problem. My personal belief that my patients come first does not allow me to compromise the quality of the care that I deliver. Each of my patients is entitled to the comfort and security of knowing that my medical decisions are based upon their individual requirements, not managed care dictates and guidelines.

I have, therefore, elected not to participate in any form of managed care, including Medicare. The choice to be an out-of-network physician allows me to spend the necessary time with you to explore all aspects of your problems and then provide you with an independent medical opinion. I can, furthermore, recommend the best possible laboratory, x-ray, and other ancillary medical services to you since I do not have to use any one particular provider. My staff implements my philosophy by explaining test results and answering questions personally, giving you the patient a chance to ask questions and share concerns.

At the same time, I am sensitive to cost issues and have made no significant increases in my fees in the past six years to demonstrate that medical costs can be contained without outside intervention in the patient-physician relationship. To the best of my ability, I will practice cost-effective medicine while focusing on you and your medical needs. I have developed a practice program that provides quality medical care at an affordable cost while caring for patients with complicated medical problems that may require sophisticated and specialized tests. I believe that it is my role as your personal physician or medical consultant to provide you with the information that will allow you to make the best possible choices for your own personal circumstances.
